FRAME RELAY

FRAME RELAY is a data communications interface standard for wideband packet-switching. It supports the transmission of variable-length packets across a digital private network. The packets can access the network at speeds of 56 Kbps up to 44.736 Mbps.

Our Frame relay service operates within a broadband network platform which accommodates interworking between packet-based technologies.

High speed, statistically multiplexed, connection oriented data service that allows for transfer of variable-length frames across a wide geographical area.

Throughput speed options of Fractional T1, Fractional DS3 up to 44.736 Mbps over a switched network using permanent virtual circuits - no usage charges.

Permanent virtual connections (PVC): a route between two specific end-points in the Frame Relay network established at time of subscription, and functioning like a private line.

Available in all S/W Bell LATAs & GTE

To access the service customer must purchase a single channel termination of 56 Kbps ADN 1.544 Mbps T1 or 45 Mbps DS3 - no mileage charges apply.

Customer needs bridge or router with Frame Relay software.

Customer needs standard CSU/DSU.
