ISDN
ISDN provides computer networking connections that are four times faster than those available with the fastest analog modems. ISDN allows users to download information from the Internet at much faster speeds. In addition, users working at home or in remote locations can communicate with corporate offices at faster speeds. In fact, much of the ISDN end user equipment available today from Panther Creek allows users to remain online, while carrying on a phone conversation over the same ISDN line. End users can effectively replace two phone lines with one ISDN line and still obtain faster computer transmission speeds than available using an analog line with a modem.
An ISDN signal can travel up to 18,000 feet, or approximately 3 miles over traditional telephone wires. Beyond this point, a repeater has been required to regenerate the signal in order to provide ISDN service to customers located outside of the limit.
Integration of voice and data (flexibility and simplicity)
Reduced call connection time for "on-demand" service. This is ideal for dial-up, dial backup, and bandwidth on-demand, Connect to PCIS and validate in under 3 seconds!
Fast call set-up and connection. Required to support LAN protocol timing requirements
Single business line enhanced with ISDN capability
Provides two simultaneous 56/64 Kbps channels (B) and one signaling channel (D) "2B+D"
Bandwidth optimization
Used for voice and/or data transmission
Requires customer supplied network termination (NT1) with power supply.
